Meet Our Team
Cindy Galbraith
Director
Cindy has been a proud full-time resident of Lake Havasu City since 2022, though her connection to the community runs much deeper. Since 2000, she and her husband Sam have called Lake Havasu City their home away from home, enjoying countless vacations and building cherished memories here. Married since 1977, they are proud parents of three amazing daughters, each blessed with wonderful spouses. Her greatest joy comes from her five grandchildren—four granddaughters and one grandson—ranging from 18 years old to just 9 months old. Frequent trips to California to visit her family keep her heart full and her calendar busy.
A passionate volunteer, Cindy has dedicated countless hours to making a difference in her communities over the years. Her extensive volunteer experience includes roles with Girl Scouts, PTA, youth soccer and softball teams, bone marrow drives, and events with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. This strong foundation of service has seamlessly transitioned into her work with the Lake Havasu Senior Center.
Since becoming involved with the Senior Center, Cindy has been driven by a desire to improve community awareness about the Center’s vital role and services. Some of her favorite memories include collaborating with the board on fun and meaningful events such as ice cream socials, Winterfest, Winter Faire, and holiday celebrations. She describes the board as “a great group of individuals” and treasures the camaraderie they share.
With her dedication, warmth, and years of experience, Cindy is committed to continuing her efforts to enrich the lives of those at the Senior Center and beyond.

Mike Cowell
Board Member
Born and raised on a farm near El Dorado, Kansas, Mike has led an extraordinary life of service, adventure, and professional achievement. In 1964, he joined the U.S. Navy and served six years aboard the nuclear submarine USS Barb and the submarine repair ship USS Nereus. Rising to the rank of First Class Machinist Mate (MM1), he was honorably discharged in 1970.
Following his military service, Mike pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from San Diego State University in 1973. His career as a project and program engineer included roles with Carrier, Lear Siegler, and Honeywell International. After dedicating 25 years to Honeywell, he retired in 2000.
Retirement marked the beginning of a new adventure. Selling their home in Southern California, Mike and his spouse spent the next 19 years exploring the U.S., Canada, and Mexico in a 40-foot motorhome. In 2019, they decided to settle down and chose Lake Havasu City for its stunning lake, favorable climate, and vibrant year-round activities.
The Lake Havasu Senior Center became a natural fit for Mike, who was drawn to the facility’s outstanding programs and opportunities for social connection. He deeply admires the “can-do” spirit of the members and their commitment to making the Senior Center an even greater resource for the community.
Mike looks forward to continuing to contribute to the Center’s mission and enjoying the camaraderie of its members. His journey reflects a life well-lived, filled with dedication, exploration, and a passion for connecting with others.
