Kurt Smith

Board Member

In 2010, after a rewarding 37-year career in law enforcement, retired and traded the harsh winters of North Dakota for the sunny skies of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Shortly after arriving, I discovered the Thursday Morning Music Jams at the Lake Havasu Senior Center | Meals on Wheels, which became a gateway to new friendships and connections in our vibrant community.

His wife, Ann, and he have embraced Lake Havasu City as our full-time home, relishing its warm weather and welcoming atmosphere. They have two grown daughters who remain in North Dakota but visit them frequently to share in the beauty of our desert surroundings.

Life here keeps them busy and fulfilled. Ann is an avid amateur photographer, capturing the stunning landscapes and moments of their adventures, while Kurt indulges the passion for music, performing regularly with the Thursday morning group and other local ensembles. Together, they enjoy off-roading, exploring the desert, and partaking in the myriad activities the area has to offer.

After more than a decade of benefiting from the hospitality, camaraderie, and dedication of the Lake Havasu Senior Center's | Meals on Wheels staff and volunteers, they felt compelled to give back. When Kurt learned of an opportunity to join the Board of Directors, he eagerly stepped forward. Kurt is honored to now serve on the board, contributing to the continued success and growth of this wonderful organization that has meant so much to him and many others in the community.
